1983 Honda Ascot FT 500 $1,200

…how many folks have spent time on one of these classic Ascots? This was one of the most popular motorcycles of its day, especially for the younger guys. On any given day, there were probably a dozen of them parked at my high school, owned by teenage riders (while I had to do with my lowly CM250…heck, it was all I could do to convince my mother to buy a 250, a big boy 500 bike like the Ascot was “out of the question.”) This VT 500 Ascot is not to be confused with the FT500 which was a single cylinder bike. This VT500 Ascot has a twin cylinder engine and a shaft drive. It cuts a very classic profile, and this particular specimen looks to be in great shape. It does have, it looks like, an upgraded F1 exhaust. We don’t see very many good condition Honda Ascot 500 motorcycles for sale, so if you’re hankering to see one and are feeling nostalgic, click the image to contact the owner.

1988 Kawasaki Voyager XII $2,950

…So, you probably know I loved my ‘88 Honda Goldwing. If you’re an experienced rider, the learning curve moving to a large full size tourer like Kawasaki’s Voyager will be relatively short. No, they’re not at their best at slow speeds; Voyagers are made to hit the road and put on some miles. You’ll do that very enjoyably with this lovely cycle for sale in Bothell. Honda’s Goldwings have their pros and cons, and I admit I know nothing about the Voyagers, here’s a link to a rider-written review of their 1993 Voyager. The reviewer says that the Voyager can feel a bit cramped if you’re taller than 6′2″. 1993 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 $2,800 Everett

This cool, comfortable, livable motorcyle is available at Gervasi Everett Motorsports, 3809 Broadway in Everett. No description or mileage was given in the CycleTrader ad. I really like these bikes, though. I think 750 cc is a very good engine size. Shaft drive will deliver maintenance-free power for years. Kawasaki chose to keep this 750 Vulcan pretty much untouched since its mid 80’s release. If you’re a fan of that era’s styling (-raising my hand-) you’ll go back in time when you sit on a Vulcan 750.

Cruisers like this have generally had pretty easy miles, knock on wood - cruiser riders don’t thrash their cycles. Not like those crazy ZRX1200 riders - they’re plain ol’ nuts. (Chris, I’m talking to you, my friend).

I think this particular specimen is a wee pricey at $2,800. It’s at a dealership, though, so you may be able to secure some extras that you wouldn’t if you were buying it from a private party. Plus, they take credit cards. And, getting a test drive is going to be a lot easier - private parties claim to want to have cash in hand before allowing a free ride on their motorcycles.
